CONCORD — A state committee considering the proposed Northern Pass project Tuesday released a schedule with more than 30 additional hearing days that will run through Dec. 22.
The Site Evaluation Committee, already set for 12 hearing days in September, announced it would operate 12 days of hearings in October, 10 in November and nine in December.
Additional dates “are in the process of being scheduled” and will be announced later.
The committee also has scheduled an Oct. 3 organized visit of places along the project’s proposed route. The specific locations weren’t announced.
Last week, the committee pushed back its Sept. 30 deadline for making a decision on the project. It now is targeting making a decision orally by Feb. 28 and issuing a written decision by March 31.
The proposed $1.6 billion project, which runs through more than 30 communities, needs several state and federal approvals before it can start operating by late 2020. The route runs from Pittsburg to Deerfield and includes 60 miles of buried lines.
