INNOVATION: Solidscape provides solutions for digital manufacturing including high-precision 3-D printers, software and materials. Solidscape solutions have helped transform industries such as jewelry from a traditional manual process to a faster digital manufacturing process. Today, more than 5,000 manufacturers worldwide use Solidscape High Precision 3-D Printers, producing over 15 million functional parts annually.
LEADERSHIP: Fabio Esposito, president and CEO, has managed the strategic growth of Solidscape since he joined the company in 2007. He brings over 20 years of experience profitably growing high-tech companies across the globe.
WORKFORCE: Solidscape employs about 100 people worldwide across all functions, from research and development to manufacturing, supply chain, technical support, finance, human resources and marketing. Global distribution happens through a dedicated sales force and a network of value-added resellers. The majority of employees work at the corporate headquarters in Merrimack.
HISTORY: Solidscape was founded under the name Sanders Prototype Inc. in 1993 to build PC-based 3-D wax printers for rapid prototyping and creating master molds used for investment casting. Having always been a New Hampshire-based company, Sanders Prototype was originally headquartered in Wilton and later moved to its current location in Merrimack. Sanders Prototype renamed itself Solidscape Inc. in the fall of 2000. In 2011, Solidscape was acquired by Stratasys Inc., a world market leader in 3-D printing and rapid manufacturing systems.
COMMUNITY: Solidscape is a member of the New Hampshire High Tech Council and has supported STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) in the schools. The company provides its employees with opportunities to support several local charities such as the Manchester Animal Shelter, Manchester Food Bank and Nashua Children’s Home.
TECHNOLOGY: Solidscape high-precision 3-D printers leverage its technologies, SCP and Solidjet, for precision, accuracy and resolution. Along with its unique two-material system of 100 percent castable model material and dissolvable support material, it is ideal for printing patterns with complex geometries for lost wax investment casting and mold making for the manufacturing of precision metal parts.
SPOTLIGHT: In June 2017, Solidscape launched the S300 series of high-precision 3-D printers for manufacturing of wax masters for custom jewelry. The S300 series is equipped with SCP technology, Solidscape’s proprietary technology, as well as a new family of build and support materials.
HOT RECRUIT: Rebecca Moore
Rebecca Moore, 27, a social media specialist, was born in New Jersey, grew up in Massachusetts near the New Hampshire border and found a job at Solidscape in 2014 before moving to Milford in 2016.
“I spent most of my time in New Hampshire anyway, so that was lot of where I was looking,” Moore said of the Merrimack-Nashua area. “I was familiar with it already. I was more comfortable with the cities in that area rather than look around Boston.”
