EAST HAMPSTEAD — Someone’s in line to start 2018 off a whole lot richer.

While there was no Powerball jackpot winner Saturday night, a spokesman with the New Hampshire Lottery confirms a $1 million winner and a $50,000 winner were sold in the Granite State. The $1 million winner was sold at Store And More on Sandown Road in East Hampstead, while the $50,000 winner was sold at Tilton Shop Express at Laconia Road in Tilton, according to Maura McCann, marketing director for New Hampshire Lottery.

“The winner purchased a single $2 Easy Pick ticket, meaning the numbers were generated by the computer,” said McCann. “The winner turned $2 into $1 million. Not a bad way to start off the year.”

The million-dollar ticket correctly matched all 5 numbers, but the purchaser failed to match the Powerball number or Power Play.

The numbers for Saturday’s drawing were: 28, 36, 41, 51 and 58. The Powerball was 24 and the Power Play was 2x.

Lottery Commission offices open in Concord at 8 a.m. today, McCann said.

“We’re ready to congratulate the winner,” said McCann. “Hopefully they realize they won.”

Million-dollar tickets for Saturday’s drawing were also sold in Iowa and New Jersey. A ticket worth $2 million was sold in Oregon, lottery officials said.

According to McCann, Store & More will get a $10,000 prize for selling the $1 million-winning ticket, while Tilton Shop Express will receive $500.

This isn’t the first time a “big money” ticket was sold at Store And More in East Hampstead. Lottery records show a Paula Giuffrida of Hampstead purchased a $1 million Powerball winner there in 2014.

“It’s a lucky store,” said Mark, a counter clerk working at Store and More on Monday, who asked to be identified by his first name only. “Everybody’s been coming in since they heard there was another winner. They want to hit this week.”

Mark said no one has come in to the store yet claiming to have the winning ticket.

“It would be nice if it was one of the regulars, but we get plenty of people just driving through that buy tickets, too,” said Mark. “It could be anyone.”

The next Powerball drawing is Wednesday. The estimated jackpot for that drawing on Wednesday is now $440 million.

Friday’s Mega Millions drawing also had no big winner. That jackpot is now up to $343 million.

The next Mega Millions drawing is today.
