RINDGE — Franklin Pierce University students and staff are reeling from the sudden death of a first-year student this week.

Michael Flowers, 20, was found dead in a dorm room Wednesday morning, according to Rindge police.

“Our hearts and thoughts go out to the family and friends of Michael Flowers, a first year student,” said Kim Mooney, president of Franklin Pierce University. “And we are deeply saddened by this terrible loss of a member of our University community.”

Though there is no official cause of death, police have said the death is not suspicious. An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday.

Flowers was reportedly found unresponsive by campus safety Wednesday morning in his dorm room.

Flags at the school will fly at half staff throughout the weekend in honor of Flowers.{/div}
