MANCHESTER -- After WMUR-TV meteorologist Hayley LaPoint revealed on air and online that she and her husband had had three miscarriages over the past two years, her pregnancy was followed closely by many viewers.

The station announced Wednesday that her baby girl, Eleni Kathleen, was born Monday.

She weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces and is 21 inches long.

"Mom, dad, Eleni and (family dog) Doppler are all doing great," LaPoint said on her blog Wednesday.

She added: "Thank you SO much to all of you for the kind messages, shared stories and advice, as well as the love and support through this pregnancy journey. We appreciate it more than we can say."
