SOMERSWORTH – Former Strafford County Attorney Lincoln Soldati (781) was elected mayor by a huge margin, easily besting incumbent Michael Micucci (397) and city councilor Arvid “Jim” Wiggin (319).
David Witham (929), Robin Jarvis (728) and Dale Sprague (703) were all elected to the city council and incumbent Dana Hilliard (694) was reelected. Hilliard squeaked past his fellow councilor Brian Tapscott (692), who was defeated along with challengers Matthew Durkee (423), Robert Gibson (385) and Armand “Bo” Beaudet (357).
Voters also approved switching city councilors from four- to two-year terms (996 to 383) starting with the 2010 election. They also said yes to fining the mayor or city councilors $50 for each meeting they miss (1,058 to 315) and establishing an ethics commission along with a code of conduct for city officials and employees (1,175 to 219).

Having known Mr. Soldati - his drive and ethics - it would be worth selling my home in Exeter and moving to Somersworth to know I am in a city with a government I trust.
