Merrimack residents voted Tuesday to authorize the Merrimack School Board to give a three-acre parcel of land to the town for construction of a new fire station.

Altogether, 987 residents went to the polls, with 700 voters supporting the measure, a school district official said Tuesday night. The parcel in question sits on Continental Boulevard, behind Thorntons Ferry School and comprises the northwest corner of a 12-acre school-owned property.
