I don't give a hang what people do with their sex lives, but it sure is offensive when they go on the statehouse steps and advertise it for all to see and have shoved down their throats.
If I were a gay person, I would still consider this to be totally out of line as many of my gay friends do.
Why is this even getting so much press?

Never thought I would see the day that New hampshire becamse more liberal than California. Believe it or not California is quite conservative or even down right prudish. What you all are doing is a good thing perhaps California will follow your lead some day.

Well its about time.. Homosexual couples have the same rights as everyone else to experience the same marital bliss.. and misery.. that the rest of us do.. When more than half of marriages end in divorce, what do you care, Bill L, about the sanctity of marriage. People don't seem to value marriage anymore, except those who cannot have it. I suppose you learn to cherish each other more when you can't necessarily express you love for one another without a bunch of homophobes thinking they have the right to judge. Congrats on your civil unions and may you have happy and long lives together!!

The "newly elected democratic majority" was elected by...um...the majority of voters. Perhaps this indicates that this legislation WAS wanted by the citizens of NH. I don't think any one person can accurately speak for all citizens, nor pretend to know the "will of the people".

Bill from Auburn, I did some reflecting like you said, and you know what? I don't want to live in a state that denies its people their civil rights. I want all of my neighbors to live free and have the same liberties that I have as a straight, white, Christian male. I don't want hate-laws passed that allows the influence of homophobia or specific religious restrictions. That's why I love this state and that's why I'll stay here. Live Free or Die!

After this spectacle takes place on the State House steps, I hope every voter in NH reflects on how this legislation was rammed through the House and Senate and then signed by the Governor. It is a self serving piece of legislation neither needed or wanted by the citizens of NH. Our newly elected democratic majority quickly realized that it may be their only chance to pass this type of legislation which is clearly so near and dear to their hearts. The will of the people be damned!
