Earthquake recorded in Lakes Region Tuesday night

SANBORNTON — A 2.0 magnitude quake was recorded at 6:44 p.m. Tuesday, with the epicenter about 1 kilometer southwest of the center of town, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The area is just west of Interstate 93 near March Road.
Federal officials said they received 13 reports from citizens about the event.

A 1.9-magnitude quake was also recorded in Sanbornton last Oct. 17.
