FRANCESTOWN - A local man was seriously injured when he lost control of an off-road recreational vehicle and crashed, New Hampshire Fish and Game said Sunday.

Conservation officers were called to the crash scene on Reid Road about 10:30 p.m. Saturday after people riding with Jonathan Pope, 19, heard him crash and called for help, Fish and Game said.

Pope was taken to Catholic Medical Center in Manchester by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, they said.

Investigators believe speed was a contributing factor.
