NORTH CONWAY — Conservation officers say a Maine man died Sunday while mountain biking along the Sticks and Stones trail near Pudding Pond in North Conway.

According to New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officer Sgt. Alex Lopashanski, just after 1 p.m. Sunday a man identified as Robert Summa, 58, of North Berwick, Maine, was mountain biking with friends. The group had been riding for several hours and were on the Sticks and Stones trail in the area of Pudding Pond when a member of the group found Robert on the trail, Lopashanski said.

Realizing Summa had suffered a medical emergency, the riding partner called 911 for help, then performed CPR until medical personnel arrived.

Upon arrival, members of North Conway Fire and Rescue attempted to treat Summa. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information is available at this time.
