Police identify Derry motorcyclist who died in Manchester crash

MANCHESTER — Police on Thursday named David Carvalho, 36, of Derry as the motorcyclist who died after being struck by a car on Elm Street on Monday night.

Carvalho, who lived at 6a Blueberry Road, Derry, was driving his 2008 Harley Davidson south on Elm Street when he was struck by a 2004 Toyota RAV 4 that was turning left west onto West Auburn Street, police said.

Authorities have said he suffered severe head injuries and died at a local hospital.

Police said the driver of the SUV was Lan Bui, 18, of 54 Batchelder Ave.

Lt. Brian O’Keefe said an investigation into the accident is continuing and he has no word on whether any charges will be filed.

A passenger on Carvalho’s motorcycle, Jessica Buzzell, 28, of 177 Lake Ave., suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, police said.
