Visiting Chinese teen injured, carried off Mt. Willard

HART’S LOCATION — A teenage student visiting from China was carried down from the summit of Mount Willard on Monday after experiencing a medical emergency, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said.

The 17-year-old male student, whose name was not released, was unresponsive but breathing when members of his group called 911 Monday afternoon, Fish and Game said in a press release.

A rescue team hiked up the trail and evaluating him at the scene before placing him in a rescue litter and carrying him to a waiting ambulance around 3 p.m., Fish and Game said.

The teen was taken to Littleton Regional Hospital. No other details were released.
