Former Olympic skier and New Hampshire native Bode Miller confirmed on social media that his 19-month-old daughter Emeline Grier Miller passed away Sunday.

“We are beyond devastated,” Miller posted on his Instagram account Monday night. “Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this. Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten. Our little girl loved life and lived it to its fullest everyday. Our family respectfully requests privacy during this painful time.”

The website TMZ reported Monday night the toddler drowned during a neighbor’s pool party.

Miller and his wife Morgan were at the neighbor’s party in Orange County, Calif., Sunday when their 19-month old daughter Emeline somehow ended up in the pool, according to a report on TMZ.

First responders arrived at the scene and administered CPR before transporting the child to the hospital, where she died, according to the website.

Miller last raced in 2015 at the World Championships in Beaver Creek. Miller won the most Olympic medals of any U.S. skier — one gold, three silver and two bronze.

No further details were available Monday night.
