Car strikes pedestrian on Turkey Hill Road in Merrimack

MERRIMACK — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a BMW on Turkey Hill Road just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, a fire official said.

Fire Capt. Matt Duke said the person, whose name, age and sex were not released, was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua.

Duke said the accident happened in the area of 159 Turkey Hill Road.

The pedestrian was struck by a northbound BMW, authorities said. The person hit the car's windshield, shattering the glass.

The condition of the injured pedestrian was unavailable Wednesday night.

A section of Turkey Hill Road was closed for about an hour while Merrimack police investigated the accident.
