PELHAM — A 53-year-old Massachusetts woman was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a car on Wednesday night, police said.

The accident happened just after 6 p.m. in the area of 89 Nashua Road, police said.

According to police, Nina Perednia of Methuen had been involved in a minor car accident earlier on Nashua Road.

Afterward, she tried to walk across the road when a silver 2007 Honda struck her; it was driven by George Maxfield, 65, of Manchester.

Perednia was taken to Lowell General Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation, but officials said they do not expect charges will be brought against Maxfield.
