PLAISTOW — Police and school officials are investigating a possible threat at Timberlane Regional High School, Superintendent Dr. Earl Metzler said Thursday night.
Metzler notified the school community that school officials had received reports of a “potential threat to the safety of both students and staff” at the high school late Thursday.
“We are working with the Plaistow Police Department to ensure that there is no credibility to the threats and we are taking all the necessary precautions for tomorrow (Friday). The Plaistow Police Department has assured me that there is no credible threat at this time. The safety of all staff and students is our top priority,” Metzler said in his message.
He did not elaborate on the nature of the alleged threat.
The incident comes a day after Kingston police began investigating a possible threat made by a student about “harming people” at Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston, the principal said Wednesday. Police had a visible presence at the school Thursday.
