Police investigate report of shots fired in Manchester

MANCHESTER — City police are investigating a report of shots fired in the area of Central Street between Milton and Belmont streets Monday night.

Manchester police received a report of possible gunshots heard on Milton Street near Central Street at 8:52 p.m. Monday, according to the city police log.

A press release issued by police said Tuesday that officers were called to Central Street, between Milton and Belmont streets, about 9:45 p.m. Multiple witnesses said they saw two cars on Central Street just before hearing gunshots, police said.

At least two houses and one vehicle were struck and multiple shell casings were found, police said.

According to the release, a newer model white car believed to be a Chevrolet Camaro and an older model tan car were both parked on Central Street prior to the gunfire. Police said they did not know how many people might be involved.

Police on Monday night said no injuries were immediately reported.
