August 10. 2017 8:59PM

ALTON — Officials with New Hampshire Marine Patrol say two teens were thrown into the water — and one hospitalized with minor injuries — after the tube they were riding was hit by a boat on Lake Winnipesaukee in Alton.

According to New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol Officer Gregory Gilbert, around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday state police dispatchers received a call reporting a boating accident on Lake Winnipesaukee in Alton. According to the caller, a vessel had struck a tube being towed by another boat.

According to officer Gilbert, the boat towing the tube was making a turn when it was hit by a white boat, approximately 21 feet long with two men on board.

The two teens were thrown from the tube. As a result, one of the victims was transported to Huggins Hospital with minor injuries.

According to state police, the white boat reportedly came from the direction of Minge Cove in Alton prior to the collision, then proceeded northerly toward Rattlesnake Island after the incident.

The boat was described as white with blue or grey lettering.

Anyone with information regarding this boat or its operator is asked to contact the NH State Police Marine Patrol at 293-2037.
