Franconia Village Trails Franconia Village Trails

The Franconia Inn, with help from Lovett's Inn, Horse & Hound Inn, and the Pinestead Farm Inn, maintains a network of trails totaling over 65 km. Most of the trails are single track in width, winding through the woods, over brooks and across meadows. The trails create a very intimate feeling with the forest, unlike the larger double track commercial touring centers. Rentals available.

Granite Gorge

Just five miles east of downtown Keene, on Route 9, Pinnacle Mountain at Granite Gorge is easy to find.

Great Glen Trails

Winter for us means cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snow tubing and incredible trips up Mt. Washington to the winter world above treeline. We get early and late snow here in Pinkham Notch and our snowmaking ability extends our season even further.

Gunstock Ski and Ride Mountain

Gunstock offers spectacular views of Lake Winnipesaukee, a friendly atmosphere and great skiing and riding all day and into the night, only 90 minutes from Boston. The Panorama high-speed detachable quad chairlift whisks skiers and snowboarders to the summit in just 6 minutes.

Jackson XC

Guests will find cross country skiing and snowshoeing, a full-service rental shop, retail shop, and lessons housed in a spacious modern lodge with fireplace, showers and locker rooms. The largest and oldest (since 1888) trail system in the Eastern U.S., "out-the door" trails lead from inn-to-inn and to a dozen restaurants, with magnificent vistas of the Presidential Range, wide-open fields, and the Ellis River.

King Pine Ski Resort

They celebrated their 50th season in 2011/12. King Pine and Purity Spring Resort continue to lead the way for families and winter-sport enthusiasts alike. Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, affordability, impeccable grooming and consistent snow conditions, King Pine has been an affordable tradition for families throughout New England for more than 50 years.

Loon Mountain

Loon Mountain is home to three peaks including recently opened South Peak. Skiers & riders choose Loon for terrain that will keep everyone happy, from steep bump runs, long cruisers, tree skiing, the Loon Mountain Park and superpipe, to gentler beginner runs and a Burton Progression Park. The Adventure Center serves as the nordic skiing and snowshoe center, with an indoor climbing wall and an ice skating rink.

Purity Spring XC and Snowshoe Reserve

Cross country skiing and snowshoeing, rental shop, ski shop, lessons, food and lodging are available at Purity Spring Resort. 28 Kilometers of cross country and snowshoe trails meander through 1,000 acres of resort grounds and the Hoyt Audubon Sanctuary with views of Bald Ledge, Purity Lake, and a wild bird feeding station.

Ragged Mountain

Ragged Mountain features two mountain peaks, forty-five trails, outstanding glades and a wonder carpet lift for beginners. The Wildwoods terrain park has been recently expanded to include natural features. The area is home to New Hampshire's only high-speed 6-passenger chairlift, taking skiers and riders to the summit in less than five minutes.

Sunset Hill Nordic Center

Enjoy 30 km of groomed trails and oodles of back country skiing atop our ridge or within our 70 acres. Glide through the woods to the historic Franconia iron mines, or tramp to the top of Ore Hill for a great work out and more fantastic views.

Whaleback Mountain

The Whale is back! Whaleback Mountain is creating a multi-discipline training center where individuals, groups and communities can learn in a safe and progressive atmosphere. Personal growth is best achieved in a supportive environment where people can feel free to innovate, create and perform. It is through this supportive spirit and love of action sports that the Whaleback staff will offer through unique programs so that all athletes may have equal opportunity to experience the wonderful and exciting community at Whaleback Mountain.

Wildcat Mountain

Ski or Ride Wildcat Mountain in Pinkham Notch New Hampshire for pure vertical fun. Natural snow abounds in Pinkham Notch, where Wildcat's base reaches 2000 feet and faces Mt. Washington! Windblown Ski Area Windblown Ski Area

A family-owned and operated business since 1972, Windblown offers a ski experience that is no longer typical in these days of the mega-ski conglomerates. Here, the pace is slower and the people seem friendlier. Since 1972 skiers from all over New England have been returning each year to ski their favorite trails at Windblown. Here in what Thoreau called “The Front Range”, on the beautiful high terrain at the gateway to the Monadnock Region, you will find 40 kilometers of trails with a variety to please every member of your family.
