The National Weather Service is warning a cold front expected to pass through the state Tuesday afternoon and evening could bring severe thunderstorms, hail, even tornadoes to the southern portion of the Granite State.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in Cheshire, Rockingham, and Hillsborough counties until 9 p.m. Tuesday. This includes the communities of Atkinson, Cheshire, Derry, Manchester, Nashua, Salem, Keene and Pelham.
Forecasters warn this cold front could cause “a couple of” tornadoes, ping pong ball-sized hail and scattered wind gusts up to 75 mph.
An estimated 7.8 million people, 1,838 schools and 141 hospitals are located within the severe thunderstorm watch area, according to the National Weather Service.
