Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Easton of Manchester celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Jan. 18, 2019.
Ken Easton and the former Brenda Mellor were married at the Friends Meeting House in Lawrence, Mass., on a beautiful, warm January day in 1959.
Ken was then in the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in Lawrence, Mass. Shortly thereafter, they were transferred to the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md. Following that tour of duty, Ken was sent to Okinawa, Japan, for a year (no spouses). Then they both moved down South for his tour of duty at the Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point, N.C., before returning to civilian life.
After evening college, Ken began an extensive banking career, and Brenda continued to raise their three children. Ken, now retired, is serving as an administrative assistant at the Congregational Church of Hooksett.
And, considering both their military career and civilian endeavors, they and the children have moved a total of 23 times.
Their children are Catherine of Ridgefield, Conn., and Thomas of Newtown, Conn. Their other daughter Carolyn and Paula Gaillard live in Westbrook, Maine.
