PORTSMOUTH — City officials say Portsmouth City Hall should open for business as usual Monday, after a water pipe burst over the weekend, causing flood damage to several floors of the structure.

According to city officials, a water pipe to a heating element burst overnight Saturday, and workers noticed flooding in the building Sunday morning.

Public works crews were on scene Sunday working to contain the flooding to prevent further water damage.

A monetary estimate of the damage caused by the burst pipe was not available Sunday.
