Assistant Professor of Chinese. Responsible for teaching two undergraduate courses per semester in the areas of modern Chinese literature and culture and Chinese language. In addition, responsible for advising students and conducting ongoing research in areas related to field of expertise. Will also contribute to the success of the study abroad program in China and work as a liaison between the Chinese program and the Confucius Institute. As requested, also responsible for organizing extracurricular activities. Ph.D. or equivalent in East Asian Studies, Chinese anguage/Literature or related field. Fluency (native or near-native command) in Mandarin Chinese. Must have at least one semester of teaching experience at the college level in each of the following areas: Intermediate Chinese, Advanced Chinese and Chinese Literature.
