CONCORD — The Better Business Bureau Serving New Hampshire has extended its application deadline for the 2019 BBB Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics to midnight, Sept. 5. Applications are open to for-profit organizations of all sizes that are headquartered, operate and provide goods or services in New Hampshire.

Three companies that demonstrate outstanding business practices while promoting a trustworthy marketplace will be honored at the Annual Torch Awards Ceremony at 5 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Bedford Village Inn, 2 Olde Bedford Way, Bedford.

“We’re looking for small, medium and large businesses in New Hampshire that have demonstrated a commitment to ensuring that ethical business practices permeate the company and its team,” said Robert Shomphe, president and CEO of BBB of New Hampshire, in a statement.

The Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics are given out annually to the top small, medium-sized and large business categories based on the number of employees. Applications can be found online at BBB accreditation is not required to apply, but all applicants must be in good standing with the New Hampshire BBB. A company is not eligible to apply if they have been in business less than six months or they have earned less than a “B” rating from BBB.

During the awards ceremony, BBB will recognize Student Ethics Scholarship recipients. These awards are given to high school students that demonstrate exceptional ethics, leadership, service and academic achievement.
