October storm 2017

Andy Anderson and Jennifer Roy point to the flooded cabins at the Gilcrest Cottages and Motel in Thornton during the storm that hit from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1, 2017.

The New Hampshire Electric Co-op will receive more than $2.8 million in funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help recover costs from a severe storm in 2017.

The event knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses across the state from Oct. 29 through Nov. 1, 2017.

The co-op counts more than 84,000 customers in New Hampshire.

To date, FEMA has approved more than $7.2 million for the state due to that storm.
