A 32-year-old New Hampshire man who was indicted on gun and drug charges recently was preparing to sell methamphetamine inside the Encore Boston Harbor casino, authorities claim.

Matthew Gorman was indicted by a Middlesex County grand jury last week on charges that he illegally possessed two firearms, three large capacity magazines and allegedly intended to sell drugs at the Everett casino, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey announced Wednesday.

Gorman was arrested on Sept. 18, 2020, while on casino premises.

“Pursuant to an investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit at Encore Boston Harbor, Gorman was stopped in a motor vehicle on the casino premises and found to be in illegal possession of two semi-automatic pistols and three large capacity magazines,” Healey’s office said. “Gorman is also alleged to have been in possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, which authorities allege he was intending to distribute.”

Gorman was indicted on the following charges: two counts of possession of a large capacity firearm; three counts of possession of a large capacity feeding device; two counts of possession of a firearm without a license outside home or business; two counts of possession of a loaded firearm; and one count of methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute.

He will be arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court at a later date.
