CONWAY — A Kennett High School teacher’s aide was fired Friday after he was arrested earlier in the week on charges of uploading images of child pornography and using them to lure potential victims.

Adam Jones, 40, of North Conway had been working at the high school since May 1, primarily with special needs students, officials said.

The New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force teamed with Conway police on this investigation that began when a social media provider gave a tip to law enforcement.

Investigators traced the tipped internet address to Jones’ home, and following a search warrant he was arrested last Wednesday, officials said.

Police said they found two images of a minor engaged in sexual conduct on Jones’ phone.

Right after the arrest, Jones had been placed on leave but School Superintendent Kevin Richard said statements made by Jones after his arrest warranted his immediate dismissal.

Jones was charged with two counts of child pornography possession, each a felony that carries a prison term of 7½ to 15 years.

At his arraignment Thursday, Jones pleaded not guilty to two felony counts and he was released on personal recognizance bail with conditions that he have no contact with anyone under 18.

According to Jones’ Facebook page, he graduated from Kennett High School and later studied psychology at Plymouth State University and Granite State College.
