SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — An Enfield, N.H., man with a drug-arrest history is in custody after Springfield, Vt., police say he was found with bath salts.
Joshua Sargent, 33, of Enfield, is being held on $10,200 cash bail on charges of possession of bath salts, a synthetic drug that often acts as a stimulant. He was also wanted on an active arrest warrant out of Vermont, according to police.
Sargent was a passenger in a car stopped on Park Street in Springfield on June 26, according to police. Police have not given a reason as to why the car was pulled over.
An officer ran Sargent’s information and learned he was wanted on the warrant. The officer then found the bath salts on Sargent’s person, according to police.
Sargent had been arrested in Brattleboro, Vt., in December on charges of selling fentanyl, according to a police statement from December.
He was one of 15 people arrested on charges of illegal drug activity in Brattleboro and Springfield.
