HOOKSETT — A local man is facing reckless conduct charges after police said he crashed into a utility pole on Hooksett Road.

At approximately 10:02 a.m., Hooksett police and firefighters responded to a single-vehicle crash in the area of Dartmouth Street on Hooksett Road.

Police said that multiple witnesses on the scene observed that the vehicle, driven by 36-year-old Christopher Wilson of Hooksett, crossed over into the southbound lane of travel and nearly struck an oncoming vehicle before getting back into the northbound lane.

The vehicle eventually veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing the rear end of the vehicle to go airborne and shift right, police said.

Police said a witness who approached the vehicle observed Wilson passed out with a can of “Dust-Off” dust cleaner in his hand.

When he woke up, Wilson attempted to hide the canister out of view of the responding officers, police said.

Wilson was arrested on the scene and charged with reckless conduct and provided with an arraignment date of Jan. 17 at Merrimack County Superior Court.
