KEENE — The Winchester man who pleaded guilty to charges of reckless driving and vehicular assault for a hit-and-run that left a teenager with a broken leg is going to jail.
Andrew Schultz, 36, was sentenced in Cheshire County Superior Court to one year in jail for the reckless driving count, and six months for the vehicular assault. That six-month sentence is suspended and he will serve three years of probation
The hit-and-run took place on Warwick Road, Route 78, in Winchester on the night of July 21 when he hit the teenager, according to the police report filed in court. Speed was a factor, police said.
A driver on the road captured the accident scene with a video system in his vehicle, and it shows Schultz drive off toward Warwick, Mass., according to the police report.
Police tracked Schultz to his parents’ home on Hinsdale Road and found the truck on the property with front-end damage.
