MANCHESTER — A man was stabbed in the neck late Thursday night in the area of Gates and Rimmon streets in an apparent robbery.

Police said the crime was reported about 10:45 p.m. and when officers arrived they found the victim bleeding from his neck.

The unidentified man told police he had pulled over to smoke a cigarette when he was pulled from his car and struck several times and stabbed. The two thieves, both described as thin black men, made off with his wallet and phone, police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
