DOVER — A convicted sex offender who exposed and touched himself in front of two girls at the Somersworth Walmart will spend at least 4 years in prison.

Christopher Dastrup, 34, of South Berwick, Maine, was sentenced Thursday morning at Strafford County Superior Court. He was found guilty of indecent exposure and lewdness by a jury in May. Deputy County Attorney Timothy Sullivan said Dastrup received a concurrent 5- to 10-year sentence on two of the charges, and a consecutive five to 10 year suspended sentence on the remaining two charges. If Dastrup completes a sex offender program, one year of the five year minimum sentence can be suspended, Sullivan said. During the trial, prosecutors used video surveillance to show Dastrup noticed the girls while they were playing an impromptu game of hide-and-go-seek with their father. He first exposed himself to them near bins close to the toy section and then followed them to the men’s clothing and grocery area when he exposed himself a second time.

The girls were 5 and 11 years old when the incident occurred on Sept. 28, 2017.
