MERRIMACK — Police say a Merrimack man faces multiple assault charges for hitting and throwing a shoe at a resident Sunday night.
Merrimack police responded to the home around 6:51 p.m. Sunday to investigate a report of a disturbance in progress.
Upon arrival, police said they spoke with the parties involved and determined a man they identified as Michael J. Palmer, 38, of Merrimack, assaulted a resident by repeatedly striking the victim with an open hand. Police said Palmer also threw a shoe at — and missed, police added — the victim.
Palmer was arrested on four charges of simple assault and one charge of attempted simple assault. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at the 9th Circuit Court, Merrimack Division, today.
