MANCHESTER - A "wanted person check" Sunday evening led to a standoff with police outside a home near Memorial High School.

The Manchester police SWAT BearCat was parked outside 312 Seames Drive for more than an hour Sunday night before a man was taken into custody without further incident.

Police described it as "an active police situation" but did not release any details beyond the incident resolving peacefully. Officers at the scene declined comment after the man, whose name was not released, was arrested and taken away in a white police van.

Seames Drive was blocked just north of the intersection with Taylor Street, where curious neighbors came out in the cold to try and see what was happening.
