MANCHESTER — City police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred at a West Side laundromat Wednesday night.

According to Manchester police, around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday officers were dispatched to the Shop, Drop, and Dry laundromat at 399 Dubuque St. to investigate a report of an attempted robbery.

Police interviewed a store clerk, who reported a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 160 lbs. with a black beard and short black hair tried to get into the register. No weapon was shown, and police said the clerk was able to fight off the would-be thief.

There were no injuries reported.

The man was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants, and a green camouflage-colored face mask.
