DANVERS, Mass. — A Rollinsford, N.H., man is facing firearm charges after police say he waved a loaded handgun at another motorist during an apparent road rage incident on Interstate 95 in Massachusetts on Saturday.

Massachusetts State Police say Matthew Meserve, 31, of Rollinsford waved a loaded .380-caliber handgun at another driver while driving a gray, Nissan Sentra heading north on Interstate 95 in Danvers, Mass., after what police termed a “‘roadway altercation” around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The other driver notified police, who eventually located Meserve’s car traveling northbound in the area of Exit 52 in Boxford, Mass., eventually stopping the vehicle near Exit 53 in Newbury, Mass.

Inside the vehicle, Massachusetts state police reported finding a Taurus Spectrum .380 cal. pistol with a fully loaded magazine.

Meserve was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm without a license and other charges.
