SEABROOK — A Rochester man was arrested Sunday in connection with a deadly shooting outside a Massachusetts hookah lounge and bar.
Charles Demos, 29, was arrested in Seabrook on Sunday in connection with the fatal shooting of Jarrod Harris, 42, of Everett, Mass., shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday outside Karma Lounge in Everett.
According to Everett, Mass., police, the preliminary investigation suggests Harris was leaving Karma Lounge with a woman when a physical altercation occurred involving the couple, Charles Demos and several others.
Demos allegedly went to a vehicle that was parked nearby and grabbed a gun. Demos allegedly pursued Harris, firing the gun multiple times and striking Harris twice. He was pronounced dead at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Demos allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle later identified by police as a Volkswagen Passat registered to an individual in New Hampshire known to Demos. Police identified Demos as the alleged shooter and obtained a warrant for his arrest on the charges of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.
On Sunday Demos was located at a Seabrook home and arrested on a fugitive from justice charge. Police also arrested the resident of the home, Joshua Demos, 35, on a federal probation violation unrelated to the case.
Charles Demos will be arraigned Monday in Rockingham County District Court on the fugitive from justice charge.
He will be arraigned at a later date in Massachusetts at Malden District Court on the outstanding charges related to the Massachusetts warrant. Joshua Demos will be arraigned Monday in Federal Court in Concord, New Hampshire.
