DOVER — A Somersworth man is facing a felony robbery charge after being overheard demanding drugs at Walgreens.
Randy Eddy, 43, of 2 Jenness St., went into the pharmacy at 1 Glenwood Ave., about 9:53 a.m. and demanded narcotics, according to police. But a witness overheard and contacted police, they said.
Eddy obtained drugs and left the building but was immediately confronted by an arriving patrol officer, according to Dover Police Chief William Breault.
“Eddy initially ran away from the officer and across Central Avenue, but the officer was able to catch up to him and arrest him almost immediately,” the chief said.
No weapons were displayed during the robbery, there were no injuries and all of the drugs were recovered, according to police.
Eddy is charged with felony robbery and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. He declined the services of a bail commissioner and was remanded to Strafford County House of Correction to await arraignment at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Strafford County Superior Court.
