Winchester collision

A Winchester woman was charged with driving under the influence after a crash with a dump truck Tuesday on Manning Hill Road.

WINCHESTER — Police have charged a local woman with driving under the influence after she totaled her car in a head-on collision with a dump truck Tuesday afternoon.

Donna Lagerberg, 63, was driving her 2006 PT Cruiser south on Manning Hill Road about 2 p.m. Tuesday when police said she crossed the double yellow line into the northbound lane and hit a 10-wheel dump truck being driven by Howard Perrea, 62, of Northfield, Mass.

Perrea was unhurt in the crash, though his dump truck sustained heavy damage to the front driver’s side, police said.

Lagerberg was trapped inside her car, police said. Firefighters used specialized equipment to free her.

Police arrested Lagerberg before she was taken to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene via ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. She refused treatment in the emergency room and was released, according to police.

Lagerberg is due in court in Keene May 1.

Manning Hill Road was closed to traffic in both directions for more than an hour during the response and investigation.
