NASHUA — Passing an allegedly fraudulent check has a Center Barnstead woman facing multiple felonies.
Lilia Pagan, 27, of 75 Old Rochester Road, was arrested Tuesday charged with theft by deception and attempted theft by deception, both Class A felonies, and forgery, a Class B felony.
The allegedly fraudulent check was brought to police attention on May 21 when the victim, who knew Pagan, reported a check had been stolen, forged and cashed, police said.
“The check involved was made out for an amount in excess of $1,500,” Nashua police said.
“During the course of the investigation, it was discovered Pagan also unsuccessfully attempted to cash the same check at a different Nashua bank earlier that day.”
Pagan was released on personal recognizance bond and will be arraigned Sept. 19 at Hillsborough Superior Court-South.
