All public schools must start offering in-person learning five days a week as of Monday, April 19, Gov. Chris Sununu has announced.

Administrators are being given 2 1/2 weeks’ notice of the change so they can make the necessary adjustments, the governor said.

Aldermen next week will discuss asking voters this fall to amend the city charter and allow Manchester’s school board to set its own budget — and possibly override the city’s tax cap without input or approval by aldermen, officials said Wednesday.

CONCORD — Responding to pleas from lawmakers from property-poor towns, Senate President Jeb Bradley, R-Wolfeboro, said he would sweeten the education aid package attached to a proposed two-year state budget.
