The Department of Corrections said Kimberly Piper presented her achievements to a Department of Education selection committee last week. The committee will choose six to eight semi-finalists and then arrange tours to their schools and schedule interviews with students and colleagues.

The Teacher of the Year 2020 will be announced in September 2019.
