Seacoast Wellness Series

Nicole Mower of Kittery, Maine, and Bridget Shannon of Portsmouth are the creators of a newly formed Seacoast Wellness Series.

Wellness enthusiasts, educators and entrepreneurs are expected to turn out next month for a full-day event that’s part of a newly formed Seacoast Wellness Series.

Bridget Shannon, co-founder of Wellness Lately, and Nicole Mower, owner of Nicole Mower Events, decided to create the series so people from throughout the region could talk about collective wellness.

Shannon and Mower promise the series will go beyond spinach juice and quinoa bowls.

They plan to hold discussions about how wellness intersects with social justice and why modern life is negatively affecting overall health.

“We just want to break open the box a little bit,” Mower said.

Their first event, The Summit, is taking place May 11 at Pepperrell Cove in Kittery Point, Maine.

“It’s really for anyone interested in learning about a healthy lifestyle or who wants to build a brand in the wellness space,” Shannon said. “The wellness industry has become a little elitist and a little inaccessible for people.”

Shannon said keynote speaker Amber Lilyestrom of Lee will be talking about the fact that people don’t need permission to start working on their goals. Lilyestrom is a brand strategist and entrepreneur who won the Mrs. New Hampshire pageant in 2016.

Other presenters and panelists include local yoga studio owners, activists, a nutritionist and a financial coach.

The Summit starts at 9 a.m. and ends with a mixer at 5 p.m. at Frisbee’s Wharf.

There are no early-bird admission tickets left. General admission tickets are $199 per person. VIP tickets are $249 per person.
