Evelyn Cormier

Claremont resident Evelyn Cormier's run on the television show "American Idol" came to an end Monday night, as the singer failed to make it to the top 10.

Cormier sang a cover of "The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World during Sunday night's live broadcast of the show, but failed to receive enough votes by viewers to earn an automatic pass into the final 10.

She then performed "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas on Monday night, but none of the three celebrity judges -- singers Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie -- picked her to move on to the next round.

From here, two contestants will be eliminated by public vote each week, until a winner is crowned May 19.
