Honor Flight veterans tour

Escape to Poland
Eli, with his mom, Nastya, holds one of the family’s three cats at the old Sawin joint Fire and Police building being used to house Ukrainian refugees in Poland on April 11. Eli’s family is from Chernnihiv Ukraine, which was besieged by the Russian Army in the spring. The family was being moved to a new location in Poland. Photographer Thomas Roy took a personal trip to Poland to chronicle the arrival of refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine.

Praying for Ukraine

At a Mass at the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church on Feb. 27, Bozena Hrynyk of Manchester wore yellow and blue ribbons in her hair and a shirt with the message, “Ukraine is my land.”

Family friend Tiffany Prevost of Kensington kisses her daughter, Lili, as an honorary police escort for the late U.S. Marine Capt. Nicholas Losapio of Kensington goes through Seabrook on June 28. Her other daughter Carlina is also pictured. Losapio, an Exeter High School graduate, was one of five Marines who died in a helicopter crash in California on June 8.
