MANCHESTER — The 27th CIGNA Corporate Road Race takes place Thursday night downtown.
To prepare for the race, several downtown streets will be closed all afternoon. More closures will be in place during the race, which begins at 6:20 p.m.
According to Manchester police:
Merrimack Street will be closed from Elm to Chestnut at noon.
Elm Street between Stark and Mechanic will be closed at 3 p.m.
Elm Street from Lake Avenue to Carpenter Street will be closed at 6 p.m.
Canal Street/River Road will be closed from Ready to Granite at 6 p.m.
Side streets between Elm and Canal Street/River Road will be closed during the race.
The Amoskeag Bridge and Bridge Street Bridge will also be closed during the race.
Areas of Merrimack, Central and Elm streets around Veterans Park will be posted “no parking” during the day.
Areas of West Merrimack, Franklin, Elm, Mechanic and Amherst streets will also be posted “no parking” to accommodate the start and finish lines for the race.
Drivers should allow extra time and seek alternate routes.
