FRANCONIA — A Massachusetts woman had to be rescued after she fell and injured her leg on the Bridal Veil Falls trail Saturday afternoon.
Fish and Game Department was notified of the incident around 1:30 p.m., and conservation officers and volunteers from PEMI Valley Search and Rescue responded to help, according to a news release.
Charlene Livingston Flint of Wakefield, Mass., had to be carried out of the area by rescuers, who were able to get about two miles up the trail on all-terrain vehicles. They reached the trailhead shortly before 5 p.m., and Flint was evaluated by medical personnel. Her hiking partners then drove her to Littleton Regional Hospital for treatment.
