The Congregational Church of Hollis recently celebrated the grand reopening of its newly renovated building.

“I am so proud, amazed, and humbled by what has been accomplished,” Rev. Tanya Stormo-Rasmussen said in a news release. “This celebration represents over four years of hard work and we are extremely excited to finally be able to share our renovation with the community.”

Festivities included fresh doughnuts made in the new commercial kitchen, tours, activities for kids and a dedication ceremony at the 3 Monument Square church.

The opening marks the culmination of a renovation that includes bringing the nearly 100-year-old building up to code, installing an ADA bathroom, remodeling the kitchen, redesigning spaces like a community function room and youth room and enhancing meeting rooms and educational spaces.

The renovation also includes a transformation of the church’s outdoor spaces with the addition of the Squires Community Patio, which honors longtime residents Jim and Jan Squires.

The work was done under the direction of Dennis Mires, P.A., The Architects, of Manchester and Milestone Engineering of Concord.
