Bedford crash leaves one dead, another critically injured

A Merrimack man was killed and another critically injured when the car in which they were passengers crashed into a tree on Back River Road in Bedford early Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019. The driver, also of Merrimack, escaped serious injury.

BEDFORD — Police have identified the man killed in a single-car crash in Bedford early Saturday as a 21-year-old from Merrimack.

Christopher Lamoureux, 21, of Merrimack was pronounced dead at the crash scene on Back River Road in Bedford early Saturday, after the 1998 Honda Accord he was a passenger in hit a tree, Bedford Police Sgt. Devon Kimball said Sunday.

Police said another male passenger, identified as Tyler Ploss, 21, also of Merrimack, was taken to Elliot Hospital in Manchester with life-threatening injuries. Ploss remains critical condition, police said Sunday.

The driver, identified by police as Ashlyn Toursie, 22, of Merrimack, was also taken to Elliot Hospital with what police said were minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation, police said.
